Year 6 - 2018-19

Welcome to our Year 6 page. On here, you will find all sorts of photos and examples of our hard work and fun.

For information about SATs, head to our Year 6 SATs page.

CGP 10 Minute test sat's revision books:

Early this term, your children will be taking home three SAT's revision books. The books (Maths, Reading & SPaG) will form the basis for your child's revision homework schedule.

These books have been designed to make revision for these important assessments manageable and should take no more than 30 minutes to do per week.

Classes will mark these as a class on Thursday afternoon.

Transition to high school 2019:

Check back over the coming months for information regarding transition days and open evenings as they are published.

Learning in Year 6

As you'd expect, Year 6 have been incredibly productive so far this year & have some amazing work to be proud of.

Here are just a few examples:

VISITS AND EvENTS

YEAR 6 RESIDENTIAL- MARRICK PRIORY

We have some wonderful news! This year in Year Six we will be holding a residential trip to Marrick Priory. Here at NJA, we are overwhelmed with excitement at the thought of this fabulous opportunity! Over the course of the weekend, we will be doing a range of amazing activities including: climbing, abseiling and lots more

Our trip will take place during the second half of the summer term, travelling on Friday 21st June and returning to school by 3.30pm on Sunday 23rd June. Unfortunately we are only able to take a maximum of 48 children at any one time, so places will be allocated on a first come first served basis

The cost of the trip is £155, which includes two nights accommodation, three meals each day and all the activities. Whilst costs can be paid upfront, payments can be split into more manageable payments.

To book your child's place return the reply slip with the deposit of £35 as soon as possible.

UPDATE JANUARY 2019:

A small number of places are still available for the trip. If you would like further information speak to a member of the Year 6 team ASAP.

HOMEWORK

Our homework grid this half term is based around 'Survivor's' and the class novel, 'Kensuke's Kingdom'. Our homework grid is designed to ignite a love of learning in new ways. Here is some examples of our exemplary homework.
