Friends Of Normanton Junior School

Welcome to all the “Friends of Normanton Junior Academy”

Friends Normanton Junior Academy is our Parent, Teacher and Friends Association. To be involved, you don’t need to be a parent of a child in our school; you could be an aunty, uncle or grandparent. We all have one objective and that is to raise funds to help support the school through events and activities which will help to make a difference to every child. We would love to hear from you with your suggestions of what you feel would improve the school experience for our children, or if you want to help out!

Our e-mail address is: friends@normantonjunior.co.uk

Alternatively please put your suggestions or ideas in writing, mark it for the attention of “The Friends of Normanton Academy” and leave it at the school office.

Emma Watson (Chair Person)

As the Chair of the Friends of Normanton junior Academy I hope to help give the children of our school the best experience possible, and opportunities which they may not be able to get elsewhere.

I am married with 3 daughters, one in year 6 and another in year 3, my third daughter will be joining Normanton Junior Academy in September 2018

Carol Wheeler (Secretary)

I am a parent of children in years 3 and 6, I joined FONJA when it was formed over 2 years ago, I am keen that the students time at school is positive, fulfilled and varied. I believe we help to achieve this by providing opportunities for the children to have new and fun experiences.

Danielle Tintor (Co-Secretary)

I am a parent of 3 children, 2 of which currently attend Normanton Junior Academy, a son in year 5, and a daughter in year 3, I also have a 2-year-old daughter.

I am hoping to help the students time in NJA to be enjoyable, memorable and fun. I am committed to help raise money to fund equipment and activities to help ensure this to achieve.

Joanne O'Toole (Vice Chair-Person)

I am a founding member of FONJA, where I have held the position of secretary for the first 2 years, this year I have taken the opportunity to become vice chair.

I am a mum of 3, my eldest son is now in high school having attended NJA, my daughter is in her final year here, and my youngest will be joining in September 2018.

My focus will always be around the pupils at NJA and how we can make their short time here as fun and fulfilling as possible, either by doing after school activities or raising money to fund extra resources for current and future pupils to enjoy!

Lisa Knight (Treasurer)

I am a mum of 4, my son is in his final year at NJA and I have a daughter in year 3. My twins are due to join in September 2018.

I joined FONJA when it was formed 2 years ago as I felt it was important that the children are given a wide variety of experiences and opportunities while at the school.

Linda Ackroyd (Co-Treasurer)

I retired two years ago, and since then I have been heavily involved in schools, through volunteering and assisting on school trips. I have 1 granddaughter in year 6 and a grandson in year 2.

I have been with FONJA for 2 years and I am dedicated to help raise money to give the children opportunities that normal school funding wouldn’t allow.
