Year 3 - 2018-19
Welcome to Year 3. Here you'll find out all about our curriculum and the brilliant learning opportunities that are going on through the year. Browse through our curriculum document on the left, take a look at some of the work we've completed in class, our displays that we have up, the fantastic homework we are creating or some of the special events that are happening through the year.
Firstly, we want to welcome Mrs Jones to our Year 3 team and we are sure your children will enjoy learning with her. During our Spring term you can expect your children to regale you with facts about plants, trees, forests and our author Anthony Browne. We will be exploring the effects of deforestation and looking at what plants need in order to survive. Looking at the different books of Anthony Browne will bring our English alive with stunning illustrations and fairy tale endings.

Visits and Events
In our Autumn Term we have had fun doing these brilliant activities.
WW1 Themed Day
WOW! What a brilliant day we had as history time travellers stepping back into WW1. We joined the army using the conscription process that would have been followed at the time by men and boys as they joined to fight for their country. Battles were fought in the trenches and first aid training was given to support the soldiers in their war effort. Finally, to end our day we made large collage poppies as a mark of remembrance for the fallen soldiers.
All the children were amazing during our Remembrance Day commemorations. They wrote poems, made crosses and wreaths, sang songs and showed their respectfulness throughout our service to end the day..
Take a look at some of our amazing homework projects completed during the Autumn term. We are looking forward to seeing what delights we will receive during the Spring Term.#Homework Heroes!
Every week, we would like each child to read at home as much as possible (5 times per week to gain 5 reading stars). Please sign and date their reading record when you have listened to them read to you. It is a great reason to spend some special time sharing a book together.
Message from the team
We look forward to sharing our ideas and experiences with you over the coming year. We pride ourselves with an open door policy so please feel free to ask us about anything you are unsure of. We will be available on the doors after the children are dismissed.
